Nero 7 premium seems to fuck up every session I do, trying to burn a few mp3s to cd, and the result is skips , glitches every now & then, while they aren't there in the original mp3s!
I have 2 gig internal ram, fast ass pc (no burning errors / buffer on the runs whatsoever) why is this happening? Do I need some extra special codecs, or could it be conflicting codecs?
Basically I have every video codec + the lame & fraunhover encoder codecs installed.
I have 2 burners, 1 new duallayer dvd writer & another dvd writer. Never had a problem burning dvd's or data cd's.
But both burners have the same kind of resulting errors. It's not a continuous skipping, just a few hickups during tracks.
Still this is really irritating, I'm trying to find out if I've missed something.
cheers

have you tried completely reinstalling Nero?
are you using a new batch of cd-r's, as in: a new spindle or packet? could be the cd-r's themselves.
how old are the burners? most start to wind down pretty fast after about a 1000 burningtons.

if you're burning them as audio cds, convert the mp3s to wav before you burn them

try itunes for this. i'm not a itunes fan personally as a media player (i find the interface slow/cubersome, and it doesn't display non-tagged mp3's properly amongst other gripes), but as a media conversion/burning tool it's bloody brilliant.
try it out for burning mp3 cd's - both as audio and data cd's (with neat automatic functionality like naming filenames of tracks numerically). it's great for making up random cd's too using the "smart playlist" stuff - just throw in some search terms, and hit burn.

Are you burning audio cds from mp3 or data cds with mp3s on them? If the former try decoding the mp3s to wav first and adding the decoded files to a nero audio cd project. Either way try burning at a slower speed, making sure your hard drive isn't too fragmented (causes buffer underruns at worst) and that the mp3s themselves actually play ok, and play ok if decoded to wav.
