Burzum

Fact: Rundgang um die transzendentale Saule der
Singularitat by burzum is the best ambient piece ever
constructed. However, all burzum's other music is wank.
Therefore, the rest is fair game.

went to their label site, started to download the nomon
video, then stopped and closed download manager at 500 KB
but in five minutes found the whole file on my hdd anyway.
Well, not bad music. Video is kinda too long.

having heard their two full albums by now I have to say that
the first one seems to be better, although "Wind and Water"
got so many praise. there's just more going on there, the
beats are more varied, mory crunchy, the IDM influences are
very visible, which in this case is a advantage. the new one
may be a bit harder to get into, darker. more pure ambient
stuff there.

yeah, i enjoyed their self titled album and their 3d
concepts part much more than wind and water. but the new one
is still growing on me, brumal started it off signature but
the rest is more experimental. will listen now.

they sure have a great potential, but they should keep the
melodic and rythmic elements balanced (which simply means
not forgetting about them), so that they avoid plain
one-dimensional ambient structures (like in LII6), cuz
that's just boring, and others do that better.

have you heard their track 'sixt'? they mastered form in
that one. its the reason i made this thread.

I think this described 'Wind and Water' perfectly.

Melodies appear to be afraid of being heard, dissolving
into inverted echoes of themselves before they are fully
realized.

I'm sort of frustrated that this became a thread about
loess' most recent release. You'll find a much deeper yet
simplistic ambient form in the 3d concepts collection. 'Wind
and Water' is much more clament and shouldn't be the
starting point for anyone willing to give loess a try.

You could do an ambient set in an ambulance
Pack that bitch tight and get on with it
That top part of the ambulance is filled with speakers

Discogs label it as IDM, Ambient. I do not want to hear
IDM-ambient!
