What do you usually eat for dinner?

We have been having somewhat the same kinds of meals for
the past couple of years, no real change except the
occasional fast-food dining. Got anything good or different
you might have for dinner that I could try sometimes?

Besides oven fresh beats and meaty synths.

thai style soup with coconut milk, soup stock, fish sauce,
garlic, ginger, lemon grass and hot peppers - I pretty much
wing it as to what goes in it and how hot / sweet / sour /
etc it turns out.

experimental cooking is the best, if i'm planning on making
stir fry i like to just throw all kinds of shit into a glass
jar to marinade the chicken with stuff like raspberry
balsamic, peanut sauce, honey, maybe even a little soda, and
basically what ever is around

Yeah, after a while you get a good instinct for cooking
freestyle and you know you need something meaty and savory
here, something tart and tangy there, and it just flows.

maybe that's where the lucky kitchen label name comes from.

i can never remember quite how to make it right but i do a
yummy thing with chicken and some spicy sausage and peppers
in a wok and then wack in a bunch of brown rice and chicken
stock and paprika and it all goes orange and brown and
scrumptious

Noodle/rice and chicken seems to be common here. Starchy
foods with white meat.

Rotates mainly amongst salmon, halibut, haddock, chicken,
rice, potatoes, tuna sandwiches, and usually have a banana
or an orange and some Activia yoghurt. Marketing ploy or
not, this Activia seems to improve EVERYTHING.

offline swift_jams from big sky on 2006-07-04 08:16 [#01932007]

Well, I haven't had yoghurt in a long time, or salmon, both
of which I like a lot. So that will go on the grocery list
as well.

By "SHIT" I mean mean it in the american slang sense,
meaning "stuff".

So, yes I prefer to cook my own gourmet meals.

I made this thing with cabbage, onions, garlic, "roman"
beans, diced tomatoes, zipperback shrimp, curry, hot pepper,
a touch of brown sugar and a splash of vinegar. It was total
kitchen improv and it was delicious over couscous.

curry will pretty much flavour any amount of vegetables
and/or meat or fish into something tasty, I'd think.

meaning, seeing the list of ingredients and condiments, it
doesn't make me go "wow! mad improvisation skillz!!" :)

except maybe the zipperback thing, because I have never
heard of that - adding a small biomechanoid creature from
Mercury to a dish might shake up things a bit.

although, even then, curry will probably do the trick.

Oooo, a vile of Mercury liberally splashed on curry! MMmmmm

did you see those 'Posh Nosh' things? They were funny but
also tantalising!

'Embaress the brocolli onto the bullied mushrooms, use a
fork from the champagne region to rally them into position'
or whatever they said... I loved how he'd get pissed off
with her for pronouncing things slightly wrong, especially
in cooking shows where you need to repeat the ingredients.

I played arund with some stuff last night. New salad: Romain
lettuce, dried apricot I diced, mandrin oranges, crushed
sunflower seeds and strawberry vinagrette.

Yum :)

Then I got a fresh pineapple and caramelized it for dessert.
