tell me about it! the downside of getting decks is having to
switch to vinyl..... which is very expensive!

offline Phresch from fucking Trondheim (Norway) on 2002-03-08 00:50 [#00116680]

of course. i don't have any vinyls myself so if i were you,
i'd buy a some Pioneer cd-players and a mixer.

get em from turnkey, not those crappy back of magazine ads
that charge £500 for one 1210 :(
www.turnkey.uk.com and you can get decent prices. the numark
tt decks are solid and decently priced. get decks and then
ear-rape the neighbours. if the police come round tell them
it was the wookie-hole-witch

im checking that site out now, cheers

do an aphex and premix everything onto a cd or 2 and then
pretend you are djing live: when you need to change cd's
play a sound file of blankety- blank to bridge the gap. the
more observant of you at the astoria gig will know what i
mean. i didn't want to believe it but deep down i know it to
be true :(

offline chapman from United Kingdom on 2002-03-08 00:59 [#00116692]

i cant find any DJ gear on that turnkey site :/

offline jingle from London (United Kingdom) on 2002-03-08 01:55 [#00116740]

yup, at the mount fuji set he pressed play and walked off
stage, then came back at end of cd and buggered off. he
didn't seem to bothered about the whole gig actually.

the site used to have decks on it, and i know they sell them
so if you order a catalogue i gaurantee you will get the
lowest uk price good luck

My technics have been collecting dust since the mp3
revolution. I only play records at social events...or while
I'm excercising...

really think abut what you want to do with them before you
buy them, they are a huge investment of $$$ and time

He generaly plays live from a laptop (as well as DJing from
one as well)...using ProTools...

Theres not a huge amount a single guy can do to play music
of AFX's complexity live but ProTools does allow a certain
amount of tweaking...

He spoke a bit about this in that Morning Becomes Eclectic
Interview.... e me if you haven't got a copy...

It´s up to you man.

I as a vinyl junkie couldn´t imagine to be without them.

Decks can be so much fun.

I think you should get 1210.

They are the perfect ones to me.

I got mine since 1995 and they are still running perfect.

The motor is unbeaten.

only go technics if you go decks

and beware vinyl is addicting

but the best medium out there; for sound quality, ethics,
and sheer beauty
