lets make a megaband! I shotgun playing guitar! We will be
super. We will be powerful. We will be funky. We will be
Zilty!
we need someone to do a bass line, someone to do drums,
someone to play synths, someone to dj things like nu metal
bands and I'll play jazz guitar, we can even get a singer
and an MC!!!!
rock on!

jokings aside... we shoudl have a set bpm, and say two or 3
chords in a set order for a set length of time and one
person starts with one note and then the next persons adds a
second note and it builds havinga new person enter after
each bar or two bars untill we end up with an apocolyptic
droney mega band song!!!!

btw i meant mono not one note because it needs to be say 2
chords so you can do one bar of one note maybe a passing
note then second bar of the next note but no chords the
chord has to be constructed by everyones different element!

into a huge crescendo of ZILTYNESS! say yes on propsistion
megaband!

ok....
Tempo: 100bpm
Key: C#minor (or harmonic minor)
2 bars of A and 2 bars of C#m

Maybe use add9 versions of those two chords (Amajadd9 and
C#madd9)

keep your note/s minimal so that lots can be added without
it becoming too overbearing!

recorded it so it can be looped so if you wnat to elave a
count in and count in do so but let us know how many counts
you left to make looping easier!

I genuinly think we could make a real tidal wave of a track,
feel free to play around melodically but don't make it too
active so that it overbears on the overal chord changes.
Please do use rythmic pads or fluttery synth lines, or you
can even sing the note sif you like. after the main track is
all loppe dup and done we can do the same with beats. I
genuinly wanna do this so I'll ahve to put myself forward as
looper of parts.

I'd suggets using you send it to uplaod maybe a wav or maybe
an mp3 for now!

come one join in people! its such an easy task!

theramin would be cool.

seriously though does no one think this is a good idea? I
ahd images of it starting small and building into a big huge
wall of sound as more and more people add thier mono notes!

if you want to do random shouting go for it but make sure
its in the bpm given! i keep listening to the boredoms
circle which is kinda what i ahve in mind!

Ok it seems I've slightly confused people as to what the
idea is.

Basically I want everyone to submit a a part of the chord
sequence.

We have a set bpm and our Amaj and C#m chord sequence now I
for example might add my loop which will be an A note and a
C#. All i do is choose what ever instrument/sound i want to
use and play these two notes sticking to 100bpm and then
someone else adds thier two notes taken from the avaible
notes in the chords we are using for example someone might
do one long E as E is in both chords.

This geos on and people simple keep adding to the chords and
we gradually build up a large textured chord sequence. the
reason they must loop is we will gradualy add people as we
loop previous entrys

the result will be fantastic as long as we follow the rules.
I've tried to make this clear i hope people undertsand

any questions?

how can you stand doing a track at 100 bpm

i usually program at like 400+

(but the songs are half the programmed bpm)

I was looking for single notes rather than full chords but
we can use this still. I especially like the feedback i
thinkw e should deffo use that!

see the idea is....
say the chord is E B G (its not but assume it is)
Now one person submits the E another submits the G and we
add them all together! So people submit seperate notes using
thier chosen sound it could be a synth they made or it could
be them singin. Obviously notes will be repeated but because
each one is a different sound we end up with a huge chord!

sorry i did make it pretty confusing basically the song is
two chords! Amajadd9 and C#madd9 so each persn submits a
short wav that can be looped of two notes form both thsoe
chords at 100 bpms. Thats all no mlodies not chords just two
notes. make the notes iwth whatever soudns youw ant so when
we add them all together we basiaclly get one big two chord
sequence at 100 bpm

offline Taffmonster from dog_belch (Japan) on 2006-06-30 18:55 [#01930263]
Points: 6196 Status: Lurker

ok here is an example file!

the first 4 bars are by person 1 who submits there 2 notes
(the notes corresponding to the chord sequence) the next is
the second 4 bars by person 2 and the third set of 4 bars is
how they will come out! each person submits thier 4 bar loop
to be added to the scheme so we end up with a giant chord...
well in this case two giant chords! simple as that!

say?

you can use that stuff for whatever you want there buddy
