I'm very unsure about em...

I saw them a few years ago and they were quite interesting.
But I saw them again a couple of months back and thought
they were rubbish. They seemed so pretentious, compared to
the band I saw a few years back. They had adopted all the
rock star poses etc. But what was more annoying was they
kept having a go at the venue because its sponsored by
Carling, ranting that these sort of places are destroying
music... totally fair enough, but why the fuck do you book
your tours there and take your fee, there's loads of venues
to choose from. Seemed like trying to be anti-capitalist for
the image. Then they had loads of projections etc talking
about the amount of carbon emissions the tour has created
etc.

They just reeked of godspeed you black emperor fanboys,
trying to adopt their whole philosophy (and sound, really).
I just couldn't enjoy the music at all, seemed so much
cheesier seeing it live with all their little touches... its
a shame because its put me off their music and I remember
them being very interesting the first time I saw them.

Thought maybe I'd just lost interest in post-rock stuff, but
went to see Mogwai a week or two later and I swear,
everything about them blew 65dos out the water.
