just got a firewire audio interface workin on my laptop.
problem is, when i do anything w/ software, it isntantly
locks up. from pressing play or just launching a loop.

ive disabled the sound card that came w/ the laptop. turned
off volume control.

one other problem is the balanced 1/4 outputs aren't
outputting anything either!

really sucks! i finally have some time off of work to make
some beats and i fuckin cant...

Oh, you got a pcmcia card firewire interface? Jesus, I dunno
man. Putting that in between a computer and a sound card is
like trying to rollerskate on stilts. The pcmcia firewire
adapter wasn't necessarily designed for low latency... what
make / model is it?

im basically down for the idea and all, but if the drums
aren't pink i really will probably call it off

Yeah, I thought this topic was going to be about a brain
tumour or something. Pretty disapointing.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want you to die or anything.

check the model of the controller in your system tab in
windows. then go to the m-audio site and see if there is a
compatibility list and search for it.

if not, search google for something like "audiophile texas
instruments chip problem" - you should find a forum with the
solution.

that's what i hate in m-audio's - when it works, it will be
your best friend. if it doesn't it wont let you go
