Played on a set of technics ripoffs, they were made my
Omnitronic. I have to say they were very good, very strong
motor, sturdy and great for scratching.
Anyone who want's some decks but doesn't want to pay top
money for technics should looks at these, they were under
£100 each!!

a strong motor is actually one of the most irrelevant things
in a deck imho. it's about the stability of the deck,
flutter and so on.

and i cannot believe that any omnitronic can compete with
the 1200

I just have a pair of shitty Numark TT1510's.
All I do is beatmatch anyway. I'm not really interested in
"upgrading".

depends on what you're playing.

if you make rough crossfades/scratches then of course a high
torque is needed and you don't really bothe about
beatmatching.

but every techno, minimal, progressive just needs a good
system to work with.

especially when you play with three decks.

I'm just playing electro-ish dancey stuff. I can rock a half
decent set on them, so I'm not arsed. I always beatmatch,
but it's mostly about the selection.

depends of course. everybody can get used to it.

i had two belt drive turntables at home for most of the time
and i didn't even use the pitch because the engine was so
weak that i could just squeeze the middle pin in my fingers
and easily slow it down.

when i got my first direct drive i nearly burnt my fingers
that way :D

Haha, I always thought "tweaking the nipple" was just
standard.

When I read the tech specs about the Omnitronic, the wow &
flutter figures were damn close to SL1200s. I've always said
in the past save up for technics if you can and still say
that, but I was impressed by these decks for the money.

I know fuck all about decks. All I know about is rocking a
fucking party until everybody is crying tears of joy and dry
humping each other and giving me high fives and offering to
let me fuck their girlfriends.
