Ohhh, just reading his biog on MySpazza "Raised in a
family who loved a wide range of music - and one which could
claim a hugely famous pop-star cousin in Marc Bolan of
T-Rex"
.. whereas I can claim to have an uncle in
leading T-Rex tribute band, T-Rextasy. I think we're going
to be the best of pals...

My claim to fame is my dads cousin made the biggest
yorkshire pudding in the world during the 80's but I don't
have anyone to share it with....

Wonderful! I'm sure there's someone, out there, that's made
a hotpot the size of a football pitch, you can trade stories
with.

man
the clarity of this song .

... tell me something

did i like this song better because

a) i thought it was an unreleased analord track

or beacuse

b) the "clean" version doesnt sound (literally) as good as
the dirty version.

wow. i really dont think im going to listen to this clean
version anymore (and i've looped it for 57minutes, now)

something weird about it .

getting the mp3 of this somewhat made my day (as well as the
futurama news!).
you posted over here and on the mu forum saying its
unreleased analord. and as you realise its not aphex you
decide its really not that great.

maybe im tired and grumpy today but not all this is very
smart : )

no not really
i just said that because

i think it's the whole, listen to a track a thousand times
(like from a live show) , when you can hear people talking

and the little "talks" or whistles or screams kinda get
memorized with the song.

then when you hear the "real" version it may not seem as
good because of the previous one you memorized and fell in
love with.

im kinda hooked on the 1st mp3 i posted, probably because it
was the first version of it ive heard and ive listened to it
A LOT.

the thick distorted bass + live ambience and droney sound
degregation kinda "made" the track for me.

hope you can understand this, it's really hard to put into
words.

i've had the same problem with hearing some tracks in live
settings and hearing the "studio versions", the distortion
sometimes really adds to the track..

well, it's one of my fav craigs' songs..i sort of know what
you mean there elusive, but once you hear it a few more
times it will grow on you..it's that sort of song i think.

actually yeah, i kinda can agree with you know.
i remember now, that song was from the melbourne show (not
that i was there, but downloaded the mp3s awhile back).
that song was always cool, i loved it and wished richard
released it, but the recording was crap.
now that i do have it, i enjoy it, but there is a certain
something missing. i do hope i am able to enjoy it more cos
i know its a good song.

I gotta agree with elusive, the live version sounds much
better. I'm not a major afx fanboi and don't really care if
it unreleased analord or not.
The live sound is sublime, that bass distortion and the
crowd noise. It brings back good memories to me.
The clean version is not as good because it lacks all those
triggers for my memory.

Just done an A:B comparason, the live one has a kind of raw
"rough round the edges" appeal, the other is too clean,
typical of 69/carl craig. makes music which is so nearly
perfect but also really boring. like 69 - desire.
