sorry but someone on here (it might have been uzim)
mentioned who the street preacher guy who features in alot
of the godspeed you black emperor songs is? I've tried
google but cant find anything other than Providence street
preacher. if you are sur eof whome i am talking i am
reffering to the guy ranting on Blaize Bailey Finnegan III
(the best GYBE track ever imo).

if anyone knows please share the knowledge because knowledge
is power and i am a megalomaniac!

bear in mind that I have never even heard the song you speak
of - but I had a look on wikipedia (where the freaks and
fans meet), and if you're talking about a song on an EP
called "Slow Riot for New Zer©ª Kanada", then Blaize
Bailey Finnegan is actually the name of the guy.

from hurr

"BBF3" refers to the vox pop interviewee, Blaise Bailey
Finnegan III, whose eccentric ramblings form the core of the
EP's second track. Finnegan recites a poem which he claims
to have written himself. The poem is, in fact, mostly
composed of lyrics from the song "Virus" by Iron Maiden that
were written by the band's then-vocalist, Blaze Bayley.
Godspeed You Black Emperor! were apparently unaware of this
until after the release of the EP. Blaise Bailey Finnegan
III is apparently the same person being interviewed at the
beginning of f#a#¡Ä's "Providence," and indeed some
concert performances of "BBF3" also incorporate that
sample.

also, on the Kranky website:

"The band's second release was an EP called Slow Riot for
New Zero Kanada, released on CD EP by kranky and on vinyl by
Constellation. Centered around a taped rant in Providence
Rhode Island by one Blaise Bailey Finnegan III, the EP got
even more attention than the debut. "
