i really like to collect gemstones - i usually had them
tossed all around my desk but a few feeks ago i came to the
conclusion that dusting them off almost every day is quite a
shitty task.

so i had this brilliand idea - i but them into a aquarium
filled with water and put some foil on top. - they will be
magnyfied by the glass and won't cover with dust.

great so i couldn't find some neat place for it so i just
put it on my speaker...

my studio

you can see it on the left standing on top.

i really watched it the whole time because i was afraid that
it could fall of the top when listening to some bassy sounds
but i could never expect something else to happen...

i played a bit with the x-station and i wanted to make some
raw analog bass sound. i have no samples to post but it was
something like one of those drumnbass leads.

i wanted to make it a bit more raw so i just add distortion
- and then i started to play with the filter section.

when i turned the knob of the lowpass filter hell broke out.

the gemstones in the glass started to hop and after one
second the whole thing collapsed tossing about 3 litres of
water all around the place.

x-station,
yamaha's,
my siemens hi-fi,
laptop,
telephone.

i have to desks linked together so the water started to go
through the edge and - right into my box with vinyls.

on top of that water started to pour on my voltage cables.

so i ran switching the voltage off in my whole house and got
back to save what's still to save.

my studio
my studio
my studio
my studio

water poured out of all the monitors, my phone was dead and
of course every single of my vinyl cartons is all wa

... cartons are all wavey.

but the most interesting thing is - the fact that i switched
of the voltage that fast and afterwards dried everything
with a hair dryer allowed me to save every single piece of
gear!!

i'm really quite a lucky bastard

kids - don't try this at home

that was the only way to make me believe.

could easily burn down the whole house...

ezke: the vinyls DON'T look okay

the vinyls are ok - but i had to clean them up very
carefully because i also had sand in the bulb. it got into
the cartons and when i took them out they could easily get
scratched.

you got there one of the worst combinations - water plus
sand = wet sand.

but you're still alive ! it counts.
