for modern dub definately check out Hi-Fidelity Dub Sessions... I really like them a lot and have listened to them many times since I got them. Nice production modern dub tracks, but still in the vein of traditional dub for the most part.

I don't hate Reggae, but I'm fairly indifferent to it and I really like Dub.
Taff: As others have said, the Trojan boxsets are superb. I don't know of much modern dub as such, but a lot of modern music (trip hop, illbient, etc.) is influenced by it and has a similar sort of feel.

you guys are ace thanks i will deem today DUBDAY! and it will be a day of dub.
btw the only reason i said modern dub was just because i wanted some that had a modern production sound to use for other things but this lot is great i think i'll start with king tubby as he seems the most recommended and i'll hunt out those boxsets
thanks loads peeps!

Dub is an absolute swine to do properly. I don't know why, it's easy to get something that sounds "dub-like", but actually getting something close to proper dub is really hard.
Only a couple of the VSTs on this site are any good, but the basic production and fx theory are very useful
