I can't find anything on the net, so I'm askin' here...

How can you configure a widescreen laptop to prevent
deformation of the images due to it's wideness?

I mean, circles become ovals and squares become
rectangles...

Is there something I can do?

THNX in advance!

In the display settings, you should be able to set the
screen resolution for wider displays. I don't know laptops
well, but it should be there. Rightclick on desktop for
properties.

Been there, done that...
All screen resolutions are the standard ones. No way I can
make a custom one.

Maybe with some applet... Dunno...

Thanx anyway...

Now, for the screen options, shouldn't there be a menu of
sorts? On most monitors there is a little button or
something that allows you to change settings like wideness.
What brand of laptop are you using?

It's ma grrrlfrnd lappy, HP brand.
Right now I'm at work, so can't check the sorts stuff.

I thought about restricting the wideness leaving black
unused space on the sides, but that seems like a semicrap
solution...

She will lose all respect for me if I can't help that shit
out.

Maybe I should check the exact model and ask the
manufacturer (without leting her know).

I don't have any widescreen monitor, but aren't there any
settings in the "Advanced" dialog?
There is a tab named "Monitor", have you checked that?
