can anyone help me identify a yamaha groovebox all i know is it is greeny blue, was about £300-£400 a few years ago and when i saw legowelt live, he was using one. . . cheers, 1up. |

Thats the DX200. It does beats, basic sequencing, and has the same engine as a DX7 with a nicer interface and filters. You can get one for about $250 used now. Honestly, they made a mistake not continuing that series. It would still be making them money. Personally, I want an AN200, which is the Virtual Analogue version of the same series. |

A bandmate (xltname: neuronaameboide) has the AN200. We use it mostly for fat bass... It's a nice machine for it's price. |

Grooveboxes always seem to sound like shit by default. You really have to squeeze the quality out of them, cause they are more or less unwilling otherwise. |
