Not trying to play off of stereotypes or anything. Just
everybody I know who likes the cure are like that, and they
are big fans.

Very promising. The Lost in Translation was excellent and
introduced me to MBV and The Jesus & Mary Chain. The lady
has got taste (if she's the one doing the music selection).

Movie got booed at Cannes. Probably another case (as with
all of her movies) of great soundtrack, shite movie.

I liked Lost in Translation. I can't see a period piece with
the cure and aphex twin playing as the soundtrack as being
good in any way. Kind of like that furmium video. Music and
visuals that don't go well together, its like mixing
lemonade and coffee. It doesn't matter how good the lemonade
is, or how good the coffee is.

I don't think this is going to be a traditional "period
piece", very stuffy and all. From the look of the trailer it
seems to be about the bliss of youth and how it transcends
most chronography. "You see, they aren't all that different
from us today; kids are kids", and so on. I thought the New
Order song fit terrifically. But who knows.

dr-it was really booed at Cannes? Not a good sign.

Yes, understand that and all. But it still doesn't work. All
I could think of while I was watching that, was the trailer
for that medival movie where all the knights walked around
calling eachother dude and high fiving. It doesn't matter
how high quality the different images are. If they don't
fit, they don't fit. Its what separates good abstract
thinking from general wierdness.

the whole period piece thing with aphex twin thing doesn't
sound too good to me either. the trailer looks dodgy too.
guess we'll have to wait for the film and try to keep those
prejudices in check.
