this transcends cheese and moves towards some kind of
divine, ancient dairy product

they cannot win.

i mean lordi is the perfect marketing gag for the
eurovision. they already lacked on good ideas to get more
people watch this shit as it was getting more boring and
boring.

but they cannot win because that would bury the whole
eurovision.

there's not much to it really. just supporting a cause (and
hoping to reduce injustice in general) that has been mostly
ignored by those responsible and most of the world for way
too long.
palestina.is.

Palestine is a 1500 year conflict! are palestine.is
reflecting that?

offline Atli from Reykjavík (Iceland) on 2006-05-20 17:06 [#01903538]
Points: 1309 Status: Lurker | Followup to JivverDicker: #01903534

that conflict is probably older than 1500 years with no easy
solution but no, I'm guessing palestina.is is focusing on
1948 and later on.

offline stilaktive from a place on 2006-05-20 17:07 [#01903539]

cool.

i have quite a few palistinian friedns as i lived in the uae
for 18 years. a mate went there while it was really bad and
took some amazing pictures around several places. ill try
nab them.

It could work out if everyone takes stock from now. I said
1500 years for the next to latest daftness. Focussing on
1948 isn't going to help anyone. Do you remember the Cod
wars?

regulars in the audience of the Eurovision contest, so lets
meet up in Helsinki.

hijacking real peoples lives. Sleep tight.

cool. i'd be interested in seeing those pictures,
stilaktive.

i don't like arguing these kinds of things, least of all
online, but yes, jivverdicker, i remember the cod wars. i
find it extremely hard to compare that with the current
situation in palestine/israel today. i don't think many of
my relatives died in that action...

those organisation, ísland-palestina (palestina.is) are
mainly interested in the situation as it is today. they're
not focusing on the year 1948, but from that year the
situation has grown far worse. And although, being the
weaker party in this conflict, innocent palestinians aren't
the only ones getting killed.

winners

sad what eurosong has become. i have such nice memories of
this competition from back when i was a kid.
the worst thing is those few who still try and come up with
a 'good song' turn out like idiots because the whole thing
has become a joke.

lordi i had to hear it...

it's hilarious. glad they won.

i thought bosnia had the best song but i guess i'm ok with
finland winning it.

lithuania had the worst song i've heard and it sounded like
"we are the wieners". it was supposed to be funny and if
they had a better song it even might have been slightly
funny. i think people gave them points because they felt
sorry for them or something.

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2006-05-21 09:22 [#01903936]
Points: 50073 Status: Moderator

yeah, bosnian was my favourite song too, but i feel sort of
sorry for him to be in such competition.

i was laughing out loud at most of the lyrics, it would be
much less embarassing if they'd just go "blall babaal
blalllbal blaa bllaa" or something.

the spaniards were hilarious, switzerland was hilarious,
israel was hilarious, fcuk it'd be easier to point out the
not hilarious ones.
