Should I write "the respondents with most seniority" or
"highest seniority"?

it's probably most as a google search for most yielded 4 910
000 results while highest only yielded 1 490 000 results...

i think I would have used 'highest seniority' but they both
sound sloppy

You could say "the most senior respondents," too, couldn't
you?

it should be "most seniority", if you're going to use an
awkward word like "seniority"...

i'd avoid it and do as mimi said.

What would you say? It's a scientific paper. How should I
describe the respondents who have worked longest in the
company?

i'd say just that.

"The respondants who have worked longest in the company".

"The most senior respondants" doesn't mean the same thing.
Just becuase you've worked a long time in a company, doesn't
mean you necessarily ascend its ranks.

You could say, "The respondents of greatest seniority."

Or,

"The ones who were not yet such aged, decrepit shadows of
their former selves that they were unable to hold a pen in
their frail, shaking hands and respond, but were getting on
a bit anyway."

Whichever you prefer.

Ah! Thanks. Didn't know that it has anything to do with
ranks.

Vlari: Maaan. You couldn't make mad fresh diss on toilet
walls even if Otto Jespersen held your hand!

eh..? seniority has nothing to do with rank.. seniority is
one of the things that is considered to decide whether or
not someone is suited for some rank/advancement or for when
companies have to fire people...

it means both:

sen·ior·i·ty Audio pronunciation of "seniority" ( P
) Pronunciation Key (sn-yôr-t, -yr-)
n.

1. The state of being older than another or others or
higher in rank than another or others.
2. Precedence of position, especially precedence over
others of the same rank by reason of a longer span of
service.

Ok. One more. PLZ help a dude.

The correlations and the t-test reveal that the respondents
with the highest work hours/most work hours/what???
score significantly higher on exhaustion work-home conflict
