Trailer

a female protagonist again.. let's hope they keep off the
extra girly ffx-2 stuff then...

they're showing previews for 13 already...

Not only that, but there's already a ''sequel'' of sorts to
FFXIII... FF Versus XIII, an action game. This is an OK
trailer... all FF games tend to look the same until you
actually play them and figure out what it's about... the
characters always have that androgynous look and a gunblade
or something. The music here is fucking cheesy and awesome,
I guess that's Hitoshi Sakimoto?

Did you see the MGS4 trailer?

hahaha, they're going crazy! I guess it's because the cames
don't necessarily have to be linked...

yeah, I saw it.. I think it gave away a bit much, though
unless it's stuff you'll figure out within two seconds of
gameplay, that is...

Yeah, maybe... but it gives people a lot of topics to
speculate and have astonishingly nerdy arguments about. More
beans spilt= more hilarious theories to kill time until it's
out.

This music is in this trailer wails. It's campy in the FFX2
mold, which BTW was an awesome game even though I know
nobody here agrees.

I'm enjoying this totally, though FF12 is the first thing on
my mind...

It's outrageous that I'll get my FF12 OST some half a year
before the GAME part of the equation... Hehe, well Sakimoto
rocks anyway, I'm hoping FF13 will be largely his
contributions, together perhaps with Junya Nakano and - I
can always hope - Uematsu. I don't think Yasunori Mitsuda
will ever make music for a FF game, but I sure hope he'll
get back in with the Xeno-series or some brand new PS3
exclusive.

ffx-2 was ok.. I loved the battle system and they should do
more games wiuth jobs, but the story didn't captivate... and
on that note... ffvii was squaresofts biggest achievement as
well as their biggest failure; no game will ever match ffvii
on the story side and every ff will be measured against it
and come up short, so square can't ever create another 10/10
game since the 10 is ffvii.. it's so awesome everything else
stands in its shadow... at least in that genre and from that
producer...

konami has had the same problem.. though mgs3 was fucking
awesome and mgs4 probably also will rock the fucking house,
neither beats mgs1 (or.. at least not yet.. I don't know
about mgs4, but I don't think it'll match mgs1 on the story
side...

yeah, it isn't out here either, but I can't fucking wait to
get my hands on it!

Yeah FFX2's story sucked. I forget who the final boss was,
that's never a good sign. I liked it because of its charisma
and presentation. I remember some really fun scenes and hot
beats and cute chicks and colorful shit, and they've stuck
with me... I just enjoyed it.

I agree that FF7 will probably always be the yardstick by
which all FF's are measured by... but FF8 was my favorite,
story-wise... irritating gameplay with tedious spell-storing
and stupid balance. But the story and characters made up for
it for me, I still think the ''drifting in space'' scene
followed by the romantic space station scene with that
awesome Eyes on Me love song might be my favorite sequence
in all of Final Fantasydom. I'm such a gay. But not really,
because like I said, the lead character in FFXIII is really
sexy.

Lastly, agreed about Metal Gear Solid 1's story. Had my
favorite setting, my favorite plot, and most importantly, my
favorite collective of characters. The Boss in MGS3 was like
the best video game character ever but I hated how The
Cobras were given like no character development at all. In
MGS1, everybody had a story and the bosses pretty much all
died in your arms as they beared their souls to you with
their last breaths. Which... I loved.

Metal Gear is a fucking weird series, man.

I still say MGS3 > MGS1 though. Both games have awesome
narratives, but MGS3's gameplay is just too good. The new
camera and the online just makes it even more pronounced.

BTW, Harry Gregson Williams isn't doing the MGS4 soundtrack.
Nobuko Toda, who did the MGS4 trailer music, takes his
place. Nobuko Toda is a girl, lolz.
