does anybody know any of the leading companies, and if so, do you know where i can find their websites?
also, does anybody know where i can find market information for this industry? I think i am looking in all the wrong places.

Most big development houses these days tend to have an in-house music department, or they use the same few musicians for lots of their titles. There's also an increasing culture (particularly at places like EA) to use licenced music by signed artists.

a guy called Frank Klepacki ( i think) does most of EA's/Westwood's strategy stuff (command and conquer etc.) he has a site somewhere

we printed a book at the factory a little while ago all about how to get involved in that business
i don't remember the title and i'm much more into classic video game music anyways HAIL!! HAIL!! to the days when a musician had to know assembly language and right their own sound routines!! hail Hip Tanaka!

jesper kydjesper kyd did the music for the hitman series, splinter cell, MDK and many more. i'm not sure if it's just one guy or a group. hope this helps though
