Well, most of the worn-70s-videotapes thing is made by fans, this however is legit, and should be considered more definitive. I wouldn't attribute any of the boc videos floating around to be their official broken-cassette-documentary thing. :) |

'worn-70s-videotapes thing is getting a bit exhausted.' what boc videos are there other than Dayvan Cowboy (im guessing none but ive got no idea). anyway, dayvan cowboy wouldnt have been so bad if it wasnt so hyped, but this video came out of nowhere.. was very boc-ish with a little bit of the old in/out at the end specifically put there for certain xlt members incase they were bored of the 'worn-70s-videotape' cliche. |

to be fair, that is the boc image, if they didn't have that image they probably wouldn't be boc. they just need to stop relying on it so much, or perhaps find a new approach to achieve this image. |

to be fair, that is the boc image, if they didn't have that image they probably wouldn't be boc. I have to agree with this. I think they release stuff infrequently enough to keep the sound from getting worn out. Like mylittlesister says, they wouldn't be BoC without that.. it's like a theme band almost, as opposed to a single theme/concept album. If they stray too much from that aesthetic, it might sell albums but I think it would definitely loose some of the magic. I didn't really like Dayvan Cowboy that much even, for example. Sounded too indie or something.. it's a good song, but it doesn't sound BoCish to me at all. |
