since my day is stupidly unproductive so far...

for those of you out there who can stomach rap--and no i'm
not talking about the self-righteous self-referential
backpacker kind--and have at least a passing interest in
some of the stuff going on in quasi-commercial hip hop these
days... you should really really really check these guys out
if you haven't yet.
DJ Paul and Juicy J are both really really excellent
producers, pulling from southern crunk, g-funk, and NY
old-skool soul grabbin' shit. hell i even hear something
similar in sensibility to garage/grime tracks at times, but
i wouldn't say they were influenced by it because they've
been around for a long long time.

Furthermore all the rappers involved are pretty interesting
one way or another... naturally much of the content is
G-Fare, but its very very well done, Juicy J has got to be
one of the best rappers i've heard in a long long time in
terms of flow, cadence, etc.

tracks you might want to check out:
"Stay Fly" (this was pretty popular recently)
"Sippin' on Some Syrup"
"Ridin' Spinners"
"Ghetto Chick"
"Roll with it"
"Pussy got ya Hooked"

i know there has to be at least a few fans out there... the
time to rep is now.
of all the southern groups/artists i've listened to in the
last 6 months or so, these guys move me the most, and their
back catalogue is pretty massive, with lots of club gems.

Slob on my knob like corn on the cob
lay in the bed and giv me head

LOLster

But if you cut out the lyrics of sippin on sizurp the tunes
are great. Around this time black people in my area (girls)
carried little baby bottles full of what would have been
MD20/20

i feel bad, i sort of made some antagonizing statements in
the first post with regards to stuff like that. i do like
some of it. i'm pretty tired of it at this point tho.

It reminds me of certain situations which cannot be ignored!
Definately a part of a time in my life.

Twista - get it wet

(check that one) ;)

cool thanks.

yeah, its weird for me being up here in Canadia, because a
lot of my exposure to this stuff is very very much removed
from its original context. even now, there are countless
singles that break in the States through play on commercial
Hip Hop radio that barely see the light of day up here... i
was joking with a friend, that he needs to send me weekly
charts from down south.

Bahaha, good old mad dog. That shit is proper rocket fuel.

From what i've troughed off slsk just now this doesn't
really sound like my cup of tea, but stay fly is pretty
awright, i like that droning offkey chorus.

His taste is broad and his horizons are wide. How can one
see the stars without the proper equipment. This man is the
hubble telescope when it comes to tunes.

this is what we in the industry call an "anti-pretension
guard". i can now procede to name drop any ridiculously
indulgent experimental act under the sun and you still won't
have shit on me.
:P
but in all seriousness i find a lot of the production to be
quite excellent by rap standards.

Pusher'man: do it up.

Well I was obviously kidding because music is subjective.
