number 6 in the excellent rereleases by tiny Dutch label
Korm Plastics, available from staalplaat, to name a
store.

no idea how it sounds, but I've just ordered my copy. :)

(the picture is probably the original artwork, no idea how
the reissue looks - although it'll be similar and probably
better)

more info at the Hafler site - here, with nice
extra info:

Price is 20 euros including postage worldwide. All direct
orders made with paypal (to: info [at] kormplastics [dot]
nl) will receive a free of charge pin, related to Seven
Hours Sleep

looks like I'm cancelling my order with staalplaat..

That artwork is from the Grey Area reissue - the original
looks different. Anyway thanks Alex, I will buy this.

Like it a lot. I am probably most familiar with this out of
the hafler I have

So what's the deal with the mute re-releases? Are they 'not
official' or something? I bought the mute ver. of this and
BANG! a little bit before this came out. The artwork
doesn't seem like the 'usual' Hafler type design. Has he
always designed the artwork/packaging?

that article.

i'd like to know/hear a little bit of what it's like before
i'd buy though... i understand mister hafler trio's policy
of "the real thing or nothing", no mp3s no samples, but even
though kill the king is great, i'm not yet ready to buy an
album by him "blindly" (i've heard it was hit-and-miss
sometimes). maybe i'll go and soulseek that.

they're not directly related as far as i know — it was
just a recommendation. because both artists (in my opinion)
have similar styles and make good music. sorry if i bothered
you...

what do you mean, "eying nxt"..?

that was one of the first two rereleases, together with "the
sea org".

anyway, again, the full list of expected rereleases,
disregarding possible problems with finding the original
material and/or copyright crap:

"ignotum per ignotius"
"kuklos"
"bang! an open letter"
"alternation, perception & resistance"
"seven hours sleep"
"the sea org"
"brainsong"
"a thirsty fish"
"dislocation"
"kill the king"
"mastery of money"
"how to reform mankind"
"the hafler trio play the hafler trio"
"antarctica/brahma"

elsusive: is this a re-encode (the upload of Seven Hours
Sleep you linked to). There be some bizarre looking effects
in the spectral view which seem so suggest that it was
converted from either 128 or 160 Kbps to the 256Kbps that it
now is....

not yet. I did order it, paid, etc.

I even e-mailed with Frans de Waard for about a milisecond,
he runs Korm Plastics and is one of the founders of
Staalplaat, so he's a bit of a hero of mine. :)

hey! I thought I was less bold, but I thought it was this
monitor.

I think my Zilty subscription ran out, the one I paid for
before becoming a mod.. which is why my recordbag has
disappeared and I can't post pictures anymore.

well.. if that's how the staff round here is treated..

Steve McQueen - Exactly [unless you're rambling], the top
seems to be cut off the spectal image (around 16khz) apart
from some really small peculiar looking bits.

Which is why:

big: "Oinked"

I was worried to do just that, as it seemed like a 160Kbps
transcode rather than a true 256Kbps.

have any advice on that? you seem to know the Trio well...

"the sea org" is good. if you liked "kill the king" half as
much as I did, you could go for "a thirsty fish", which is
the same kind of found-sound collagey kind of work. it's
great! :)

I got my copy of Seven Hours Sleep in the mail today...
These guys have got to cut it out with the special
packaging...

It was just a large fold-out map with an X marking the place
where I can "get the next clue" on my way to picking up the
CD. what the heck I'm not going all the way to Hawaii just
to get their creaky noise music!
