learn to barter and expect friendly haggling stay away from heavily touristy places; most resorts and such import their fruits (which is absolutely ridiculous btw) rent a car and maybe hire a local as a guide to travel up into the mountians which is where you'll find real jamaican culture (and poverty) on the weekends there are usually large, free dub 'parties' around the island - just ask around don't be nervous when the first thing you're asked when you leave the airport is if you want some herb or yay |

just been reading a travel guide that says something along the lines of "stay away from illegal drugs because as well as the obvious legal repercussions drugs like marijuana and cocaine are of extreme potency and more dangerous." Cool. |
