Did this today in art class. Nearly the actual size, just a tad bigger.
Prisma color markers and ink pen on white illustration board
with a grey mat frame (black interior border). The black
outer border was added on the computer after scanning.

Really? I've got loads like it. I like doing graphic design
style work, but using ink. It totally re-defines the genre.

school. I'm preppig them for the Senior art Exhibit. I'll
try to find some around the house though.

it's just a shame that you can see the crop marks, or
whatever you call them, around the top right hand corner of
the inner rectangle.

It's nice drawing with the word "Jazz" on it but

I like doing graphic design style work, but using ink.
It totally re-defines the genre.

What the hell? You've re-defined... graphic design, in one
art class, by using a pen? Award yourself "World's most
self-conceited student" whilst you're at it as well.

mentioning?

Personally, I hate Deviant Art. I don't use it because I
hate the layout really. Plus it's slow. I've never browsed
anyone's work there, but I'm sure there is some good stuff,
far better than mine.

For that piece, I got a rectangle shaped piece of mat board
(used to make the cardboard-like frame around a picture
before the real frame is put over it). It had a pink color
on one side and white on the other. I drew buildings on the
pink side in pencil, then I re-drew over them in ink. (India
ink) Then I erased the pencil marks after the ink dried and
wrote in words at the bottom using the same process. Then I
wrote "Jazz" at the top. Then I bought some $90 Prisma
markers (they are great because they don't leave stroke
marks when coloring) and colored in the sky with orange,
blue, and a brighter pink. Then I got another piece of mat
board, the same sive, but grey on one side, black on the
other. I cut the frame so the front would be grey and the
inner edge would be black, for contrast. Then I glued the
frame to the drawing using Elmers. Then I erased any
addition pencil marks left behind.

Simple.

I just did this recently and made it into an 8 ft
painting (for which I will have documentation online soon).
Anyways, this is a placeholder for my new graphic design /
illustration studio I am opening up.

Will be doing album art, poster, print, web, illo, clothes,
image/branding, and animation for hire.

I'm really liking the illustration style here. Reminds me of
the drawings in napolian dynamite, kinda earnest. Clearly i
mean that in a complimentry way.

Deviantart, yeah its slow sometimes, but it does have over
20 000 000 submissions on it. Plus you can communicate with
some intresting people. I have an account there that i put
some school projects up on.
