hmmm.. metaphysics would hold a completely different connotation up here.. it's more like what aristotle talks about in his metaphysics: the first principles of things... existensialism is about what it really is to be human... well, yes, husserl is a bit dry at times, but his notion of "oh, just nevermind COLD HARD REALITY; you can't know anything about it anyway, so let's look at what we can know anything about and start there" was good, but he had a few apparent flaws in his method... I liked sartres "destruction" when you anticipate, and wasn't it heidegger who noted how we had created "nothing?" I'm not completely good with names (had one exam where i COMPLETELY fucked up with two names, and they were rather big names, but the person censuring the exam had a good will, so he just noted that I'd switched the names (as everything else was consistent with either person)), so I may be fucking up here... |

ah, yes, I am aware of heideggers nazi period and while it may be silly and the type of things people normally do when they hear stuff like that (speculate in other reasons (besides the obvious; that he may quite simply have been partial to the nazi views) why a normally intelligent man did something silly), I remember some different things pointing to that he only did it to be able to keep doing what he was doing.. I remember he wasn't a really active member of the nazi party at least, but.. yeah, I believe he may have been a "real" nazi in the same sense as everyone else was back then (again, that is some sort of excuse). Anyway, though I don't agree with nazists, I can agree with the idea that "nothing" doesn't exist without us.. and I also very much enjoy the apparent anger the "I went out to the post box and found nothing.. how is nothing doing?" thingie must've caused any logical positivsts! Fuckers! |
