how boring is your hometown?

On a scale of 1-5.

Mine's around a 3. I used to think it was boring, until I
discovered some decent venues, jazz night and a hookah bar.
But the people here are so stupid (minus the XLT regulars of
course.) Oh yeah, and the music scene in Fort Worth is
highly underdeveloped. No one really seems to care about
anything.

Of course, that's in Fort Worth, and I live in Saginaw.

Saginaw's a 5. :( (5 being most boring)

I'd say mine is pretty boring, its about an hours transit
from the city. its a nice beach retirement area where old
people and artsy fatheads live. all the kids are doing meth
here now so I stay in mostly.

I currently live in Orlando, FL so I guess we can consider
that my "hometown" for now. I guess from an outsider's
perspective, there is probably plenty to do here (theme
parks, tons of stupid tourist attractions, malls, huge movie
theatres, etc) but to a person who just lives here, well,
all that shit gets old rather fast. In the university
district/area of orlando there are a few cool people, and a
lot of fathead trendy bastards. I'd say to me its probably a
3.5 out of 5 on the boring scale.

0.5 I'd say. but we have a major factory that produces
explosives, and a lesser or bigger "bang" once in a while.
fortunately, last time nobody got killed. so much for
entertainment.

My city has one of the most toxic sites in North America,
the Tar Ponds. And a really high cancer rate. It's pretty
exciting stuff. Other than that it's a non-factor.

it's an okay town. it boils down to what you make of it.
we're pretty lucky here, with the mountains, river and the
overall nature. going out at night to the same places gets
boring. same faces, same riggma roll. we're 20 minutes from
the beach. cape town is also closeby, so if things get
boring you go there. there's plenty to do in cape town. i
spent the majority of my life here so naturally things tend
get a little same old same old.

Most of the people near the ''epicenter'' are either really
poor or... really masochistic, or something... the rest have
long since moved out of range and isolated the affected
area. There's definitely an effect even on those of us that
are on the other side of town nowhere near it (I've never
actually seen it), since the higher than normal cancer rate
isn't a coincidence. But it's pretty negligible
statistically, among the highest in NA but not high enough
to freak people out, not bad enough for people to actually
leave behind, like, their lives and jobs and family and
stuff. Being the biggest, oldest and most established city,
most people aren't going to just up and leave because of an
extra .3% chance of losing a testicle. Me personally, I find
it more silly than scary.

There's probably much worse toxic stews out there, but this
one used to be right in the middle of a lot of people, it
was pretty fucked up until the government relocated a lot of
them.

middle of appalachia. No one thinks its boring because
their idea of a good time is going to Wal-mart.

The rock scene in the town are very good, and there also a
jazz-academy on the University having a good influence. And
of course some yuoung punks are making hip-hop. The only
electronica I like is Kim Hiorthøy, and he has moved to
Oslo a long time ago. Lasse Marhaug used to live here,
though

its more like a 3/5. If you avoid high schools, walmarts,
shitty drivers and meth heads you can have a decent time

Taos? wow where did that come from! I have been there but I
was just a little kid and barely remember it. I seem to
recall it's kind of a hippie Native American type town
similar to Santa Fe. I like all of New Mexico though, for
some reason I can't pinpoint.

as far as boringness, I'd say 1 maybe currently. I like San
Antonio itself and Austin is only about an hour and fifteen
minutes away.. so there's usually a nice active atmosphere
(even though I'm a fairly inactive person). I originally
came from a really small German town called Fredericksburg
about an hour north of here and it was more boring there..
but even then I found stuff to do like crawl through
drainage ditches and visit laundromats. I'm pretty easy to
amuse when it comes to things like that.
