I've decided I need some proper active studio monitors for
my home studio - can anyone recommend some good ones for
mixing electronic music? Not ridiculously expensive as I've
only got a modest budget

headphones are not stereo, they're binaurals, so mixing with
that gives you a wrong stereo image.

also some phase inversion problems may pass unnoticed.

good ones: genelec
modest budget: behringer truth

i've got m-audio bx5's, and have no complaints about them so
far.

they've released a newer version now though. take a look
over here!

i'd go with a nice pair of the ADAM S3Aa. you should be able
to afford that, yes?

if not, go with a pair of the EVENT Studio Precision 8
monitors.

mylittlesister, how's the bass on those BX5's? I'm in the
market for some monitors as well. (I hate "headphone
hair".)
