Hmm is this new?

DJ Shadow previews new album
He says it will be 'very different'

DJ Shadow has unveiled the first fruits of his new album
sessions - and he says his forthcoming third album will be
"very different".

The reclusive artist is currently working on the follow-up
to 2002's 'The Private Press'.

A video for a track called '3 Freaks', which features
underground rappers Keak Da Sneak and Turf Talk, can be
streamed from Shadow's official website djshadow.com.

Shadow says of the album on his site: "Stylistically, it's
very different from 'The Private Press'. Some have said
'Press' was an inward-looking album. If that's true, than
this album is the opposite, and that suits me just fine.
I've also stopped worrying if my changing taste in music
costs me fans. You can't please everybody all the time, but
you can please yourself."

DJ Shadow will play his first solo shows in more than three
years at the 02 Wireless Festival on June 23 in London's
Hyde Park and June 24 at Leeds Harewood House.

DJ Shadow said of the upcoming events, "I think the time is
right to scale back and concentrate on putting a show
together that highlights what I'm doing now, rather than an
exhaustive retrospective. Maybe after two more albums it'll
be time for another super tour, but for now I think we'll
keep it to a size we can all digest."

haha. I'm thinking the Keane remix?

How the guy who made Endtroducing lose his brilliance so
spectacularly?

I'm checking out 3 freaks now.

"How the guy who made Endtroducing lose his brilliance so

how the guy who made "modus operandi" would go and make
"solaris" ? i can't sleep because of it. the answer seems
this : business.

If it's anything similar in style to 3 Freaks then I'll cry
myself to sleep when that album is released. It really is
shocking.

"How the guy who made Endtroducing lose his brilliance so
spectacularly?" - too right....

Here's another poor effort done recently. I think
he's too bothered about being seen to be pandering to
backpackers.

Obara's talking about the album... that film is great.

Jivver - that's awful. He has the skills he always had but
his imagination is just sleep inducing, he needs to get a
hold of himself.

My fault for not checking. Truth is I've never heard photek.
All is left is to download "modus operandi" in some free
time.

Ah, and is "Solaris" really so crappy? That would be sad
because the book it was obviously inspired by is a rare SF
gem.

True, hopefully he'll use his ears again soon and stop
worrying about other peoples opinions.

Haven't read the book either, but its on my shelf! Must get
round to that one soon.
