I never really bothered checking out his stuff.
but I just did and I'm liking this stuff.

Shades of Blue is nice.

his collab with JD is nice too. only a shame that they are
rapping over it.

any other releases I should check out? I prefere
instrumentals

awesomegreat.

if you haven't heard the Madvillian release, check that out.
if you're not a fan of vocal hiphop, try and get an
instrumental copy.

i like just about anything that Madlib has done. check out
his Stones Throw info.

in all seriousness, i believe that madlib is making some of
the dopest, jazziest hiphop music out there. Shades of Blue
is simply amazing, the way he reworked all the old Blue Note
stuff into new music, literally bringing back to live music
that many of us never had the chance to hear in the first
place. he has a very unique sound style - i can pick his
beats out within the first few seconds of a track. i
especially like that his work isn't clean - it's dirty,
dusty, and sometimes sounds a little "off". i like that, it
adds humanity to an overproduced and overly slick genre.

he's also supposed to be amazing live. long live jazz.

what does being stoned have to do with anything? 99% of
musicians and artists are stoned. maybe you should try it
and stop being such a little bitch.

we can all be loved if we learn to put aside our differences
and focus on the fact that we all have red blood.

it's kind of like having the aids, except when you pass it

madlib has a style that seems lazy and unsophisticated, but
once you dip deeper its really intricate in its awkardness.

get madvillainy for sure.
