like tonari no totoro, laputa and some more.. it seems to happen a lot to studio ghibli ones, at least.. why oh why do the subtitles NOT fucking follow the japanese version of the movie?!?!!?!? why do they seem to feel that they have to add words to every gesture and "extra cozyness" to random pictures? in laputa, for instance, in the beginning where you can't hear anyone talking due to "the camera" being outside the window and lots of motor noise, there's lots of english text, and in totoro in the beginning there's stuff like adding "oh, they're over there out there" when that kid answers the question about where his parents are by just pointing.. who doesn't get the gesture of pointing without there being lots and lots of extra words to it? both of these movies (and many more, but these are the most noticeable) are full of shit like that, and it makes me wish I could download subtitles and add them to the discs myself.. in fact, that should become common practice; dvd companies should leave some open space on their dvds and then there should be some subtitle databases where you could download subtitles and add them to your dvd...

And there could be silly humorous versions of subtitles for those dvds!

I also have a version of howls moving castle with the subtitles of a completely different movie (it starts out with some women speaking, but the subtitles are "John: Roger, moving out!" or something like that)
