i've a friend in college, a very talented jazz guitarist,
who made an ep of electronica in his spare time.

i think it's incredible. brilliant melodies.. plus, the fact
that these are his first tracks ever, which he did it all on
his own, just messing around, with no help from people on
messageboards or anything, is just astounding.. really good
musics.

an overview of the tracks, from the man himself:

here are some tunes. i made them on fruity lopps vol.4,
which is crap. they all sound fairly horrendous, real tinny
and flat. mics come courtesy of argos. most samples kitchen
objects (glasses, bowls, crisp packets) a squarepusher bass
drum, my own voice sped up by 100% (windows sound recorder
"effect").

track one: needs ALOT of work on it,if not deletion. but i
should still get a medal for making a grime tune in 5/5.

track two: not finished yet but i thought you'd appreciate
the sample from keith jarret's koln concert (track three
somewhere if i remember correctish)

track three: featuring a metal bowl with loopy handles for
the melody, this song makes me happy, like dancing with
teletubbies by the flowery water with their windowbelly
heads gyrating.

track four: sounds amazing if you're deprived of sleep,
staring at a paper house of scafolding and sheets flapping
against the dark.

Can't stop listening to this shit, especially "Filial Rave
Toon"...

Please download, enjoy and post your thoughts here.

it wanted my address and phone number, so i entered it into
the form... then it said to put in my credit card info, so
i put that in... then my social security number, ok... but
then i clicked where it said download, and it just took me
to a page that asked to send my passport and driver's
license and i just think that is kind of weird. that's
asking a bit too much.

seems to be a megaupload problem. you can see the file, but
then when you try to download the server isn't responding.

The sequencing is good, but most of the sounds are
horrible.
Flappy Water Bloptzh is very cool though, nice and quirky.
Thumbs up on that track!

"pooky" has great ideas, not sure about the production but
it's surely better than that lo-fi elektrobi

"filial rave toon" continues where black dog stopped. where
black dog gave ass - paddy langley continued and made a fair
amount of class idm.

"flappy water" - as above......except black dog = plaid

"fong" - as above except it's too short.

it's definitely staying in my playlist. good night...and
good luck !

Finally got hold of the tracks, after my computer decided to
be rubbish. I really like them a lot. I think they sound
really professional, although track one's production's a bit
shit, as Obi said. It's "feel-good" music too which I wasnt
expecting at all. v. impressed

ah yeah but he even said track 1 was shit himself, was just
an exercise in writing music in a difficult framework (5/5
time, not bad paddy, not bad at all)

track 2 is just so beautiful tho. and 3. and nightmares at
glade sucks donkey bollocks, whoever wrote that boring piece
of shit deserves a good hiding

filial rave toon and flappy water bloptzh are sick,
particularly the former.

'flappy water...' is like a mix between globalgoon and afx's
donkey rhubarb
