I went to the Baltic Room in Capitol Hill (seattle) last tuesday night and paid 6 bucks (6 bucks!) to see cylob, flashbulb, and richard devine in that order. cylob's set was my favorite, i danced my ass off the entire time to IDM /dance goodness. it was booty shaking and mind breakin' flashbulb sounded a little too reminiscent of other artists, maybe squarepusher, for me to find it a favorite. the music was definitely good, and a lot of the melodic stuff was very plush and pleasant, but it didn't strike me as anything new. richard devine was tight-- most of his set was wild and crazy breakcore madness. he did some cool stuff with what might've been a 303, (i don't know my hardware well enough) cool acid shit that was apparently live. he also used a PSP to dj some shit at the end, but got cut short by the club as it was after 2 am. i got to talk to all three of them in person after the show and offer my veneration, and a copy of my CD. Cylob was really pleasant. i would recommend all three of them if you ever have a chance to see em. Anyone else catch this show or any others on their tour? i think they headed to portland the next day. |

im pissed. we were all set to go to this show. somehow, even after seeing the flyer, etc etc i missed it we thought it was the upcoming thurs then the threads disappeared and im like, wtf m8 then i realized it was the week before very, very disappointed : / |
