Favourite string-based IDM

Reckon strings sound pretty impressive when they're not
used to just fill out a track. (Hard to make a melody with
strings though) Great when used right!

ie. Aphex Twin-Pancake Lizard
Anodyne-Darkest
BOC-Amo Bishop Rhoden

hasty boom alert
the fear
hwicci song

and dont forget aphex's 4, girl boy song, flim and icct
hedral
pancake lizard's one of my favorites though

also check out the freight elevator quartet for a good mix
of strings and electronics...especially the collaboration
with dj spooky

oh yeah..i almost forgot bjork...the stuff she did with the
icelandic string octet (also the source of µ-ziq's more
recent string sections i beleive) is great ...especially
joga and bachellorette

Mu-Ziq's Slice and Gruber's Mandolin are really good.

The Waxen Pith and Next Heap With, I just LOVE them. ICBYD
sounds so nice, sigh... wish he'd try that style again.

µ-ziq's "scrape" is my personal favourite.

If you go to my site http://www.yorklabs.co.uk/manicminer

all of my tracks have strings on. Dark has analogue
strings, Wharf Ebb sampled strings and Jeff sampled strings.
Jeff isn't particularly IDM though really. Let me know
what you think!
