ok so here i am with my computer scheme from my company.
they allow me to buy anything from dell range without vat.
since ive got my desktop DAW, i started to wonder "hey, why
not change the system to really really decent dual core
intel laptop". i wanted to upgrade my desktop in next half a
year anyway so...

i started to browse throught net, tryin to find decent DAW
system recommendations + reviews + whatnot. here you go
then, the more you see the less you know. after a week im
fuckin puzzled with all the info ive managed to find. lets
just say im not sure about dell anymore. i can get intel
dual core 1.86ghz clock speed, 2gb ram, around 100 gb hard
drive, 17" panel + some decent radeon on top of it - thats
dells option for roughly $1800.

should i look for something decent from any other brands ?
toshiba, sony or what else ...? what about sound card ?.i
dont think dell has PCMCIA slot, so it seems i would have to
buy USB/Firewire card ?

thoughts ?

how much do you travel with your yapyop?

you might want to look at formfactors.
or are you purely about mobile speed and floating point
performance?

Digital Audio Workstation

K300i: dell is kind of OK, but not great. You will most
likely have to end up buying windows xp again, because they
load up so much bloatware and useless shit that you don't
want, that you end up having something with lower
preformance than something a quarter of the price. The
customer support is shit too, but the hardware is aparently
OK. You get what you pay for (or in this case, a bit less).
