verifying email in msn?!

ok.. I tried changing the email associated with my msn
account for some silly reason which I forgot already...
anyway, I got a mail with a link to click to verify it, but
when I click the link I just get

We're unable to complete your request

The link you're trying to use is incorrect, or the Passport
Network is experiencing technical difficulties.

so I changed it to another mail, but same error. I also got
this popup when I opened msn saying I need to verify my
email.. I click the box and it takes me to a page where it
says I need to log in to verify my email. I log in. nothing
happens.. I log back out and select the "verify my email"
thingie in msn.. the page doesn't verify any more...

I mailed microsoft, but no answer.

I can log on to msn, but I do not appear as online to anyone
else, and there's no way of getting them to resend the
confirmation email... has anyone got any tips?

whoah

for once posting on xlt actually helped.

two seconds after I posted that, I figured out I should try
removing random arguments from the confirmation address, and
I figured out that if I only left the one saying "emailid="
in, it worked!

however, I'm still not seeing ANYONE as online.. is anyone
of those who have me on their msn seeing me?

ok, so then there's still some problem...

has the email thingie changed at least? what does it say my
email is?

..if it's still on the old one, maybe it's just got to
"spread the word" or something..?

weird

oh, well, I guess I'll just have to wait a while and see if
it spreads by itself, or if msn were lying when they said I
could just change the email, and everything would follow
automatically...
