just got this album...by Mike Dredd/Peter Green..and was
blown away by it..
like a dream come true..a whole album worth of stuff like
*equation* off Window Licker..and this album actually
predates it!..
who else' got it?..into it?

I remember i once had an idea for a game.

you are a farmer, your goal is to take care of the crops,
make moonshine, and sodomise as many animals as you can.

That sounds like "Harvest Moon" on the PSX, N64 and gameboy
(apart from raping animals...)

Yep, It is on the N64 (or were you talking about sodomy of
animals in a realistic 3d enviroment! :) )

Yes, it has gone a bit off track hasn't it!

Has anyone else played this game other than myself? All the
version I mentioned were based on an old snes game.

no but man i have a idea for a game where it's just like
sombodys life, you can do anything , go could go and kick
the shit out of people , get ripped, steal shit, go to jail,
get a job , anyhting

offline Ceri JC from Jefferson City (United States) on 2002-03-03 17:54 [#00109986]

I thought about that too dave, I think the fact that you
could *choose* to do something (as long as the consequences
were realistic) would silence the moral majority. The only
problem is that games this complex require huge development
teams and are very expenisve. Such companies tend not to
want to be seen to endorse this sort of behaviour (See old
topic relating to "Thrill Kill", a game banned by EA) so
it's vital you have a choice and aren't forced to take drugs
to complete a mission, for example.

You do get some good hardcore crime games (search for
"Chronic2K")
But I think the nearest we'll get to a "Proper" crime
simulator for a while is GTA 3.

hey Ceri JC i understand, but the game idea i have was not
to just do with drugs / crime/ rape, etc
have you ever sayed to yourself, man i wish i could just go
kick the shit out of that old lady beacause she wears those
huge ass sunglasses or somthing like that, well you could do
that in the game, also you could do normal things too but
yeah i guess this would be really fucking expensive to make,
it would probably be on somthing like playstation 10 or
somthing, because in the game like if you wanted to say make
music , you would accually have a little sequencer or
whatever in there and you yourself could accually make the
music, it would be that realistic!

offline dave from saskatoon (Canada) on 2002-03-03 18:28 [#00110008]
Points: 1135 Status: Regular

another game idea i had was for somthing like tonyhawks
except in this game you were in a huge city and you had to
get sponcered and make money and you could also get busted
by the cops and shit, and there would be no gay things like
get skate or shit like that , and when you go better and you
like won contests and stuff you would move to a different
part of the city.

the thing is if you have ever played grand theft auto 3? ,
this game would be like that and it could probably be made
today

to them for making an album that people can't steal if they
did... whatever kudos are. They have this ablum for sale at
www.forcedexposure.com if anyone's interested.

Have you heard otto von schirach "8000 bc"? I also

cool, cdnow worked on my comp. Those songs are great, I
wanna buy it. I can see how you'd like it too, it's similar
to your music. Have you heard "drill" by noise unit? You
might like it.

hmm I used to have drill liked it for a bit but then got
bored with it....Bill Leeb started gettin too
predictable..his last cool album was Hard Wired by
FLA..maybe because it sounds so much like a Skinny
Puppy/download album...
but seriously..those samples don't do the Virtual Farmer
album Justice..there's an 11.00 minute long track called
RASP which like *equation* lasting 11.00
minutes..lovely..and with each track they have written a
detailed list of the instruments used..concepts and
techniques etc..I think it will be right up your alley too
mWm because they are using spectrals, fractal, randomizer,
time stretching and all kinds of cool shit

Dirty Priest: i really think you should make that computer
game...i would definately buy it! make sure you get a lot of
nature in it; trees, grass, crops etc...i have a fascination
for computer animated nature. it's so beautiful. that's why
i prefer tribes over counter-strike:)

btw, viritual farmer is a great album

Dirty Priest: i know, Fallout2 is a total minblow. This is
my list of the 5 best games in the world:
IN NO SPECIFIC ORDER

-Little Big Adventure 2
-Fallout 2
-Baldurs Gate 2
-Tribes
-Doom 2

it's funny that the #2 are better than the originals when it
comes to c/games, when it's quite the opposite with
films...
.peace

From:
http://db.bbc.co.uk/dna/collective/A1003889

others on aphex:
Mike Dred (aka Kosmik Kommando), early influence and
collaborator:
"My style of ‘acid and techno’ music was an influence
for him at the turn of the 90s, leading to the legendary
Universal Indicator series. More importantly, my
Electroacoustic collaborations with Peter Green back in 1995
were a big influence on him. He would phone up to ask how I
made those sounds. On completion of Virtual Farmer, he
listened to it 11 times in a row (11 hours). His influence
on me is indirect. You hear his sound in a lot of kids’
music. This makes me strive harder to sound like me. My ID
is important."
