nah, i mean, vsnares has a myspace page, so does awol one,
so do a lot of artists who's music i enjoy

i wouldnt, however, ever want to know these people socially
or attempt to befriend them -

as i see it, myspace is a personality flaw and i avoid
people who use it - for the same reason i avoid people who
use instant messenger, shop at the mall, wear ugg boots, say
"bro"...all things i dont want to be part of my life

i have different standards

"SUCK DEEZ NUTS !!!"

"yar UCK CUNTBREATH!"

though both are hardly even english i appreciate
these...they made me giggle - !!!

perhaps i should say "congs"?

i don't think its a question of growing up, some people
(like me), haven't got the first idea of how to make a
website. its just a place where people can put their tunes
up so other people can listen to them. theres no harm to it,
is there?

fair enough, you have your own opinion, but to say someone
is an arsehole just for using my space is a bit angry.

its the "scene" i dislike - and it IS, in my opinion, about
growing up

instead of investing time, work, and talent into making a
website you use the #1 teenage girl network to get your
tracks "out there"

i feel its dumbing down the internet...its poor
posturing...

ps - there are already too many electronic musicians in the
world, more getting easy access to spread their tracks is a
BAD thing...its over saturation

offline grizzlybackere from woodend (United Kingdom) on 2006-02-24 09:21 [#01848100]
Points: 54 Status: Regular

i don't see it as a scene personally. i don't talk to any
teenage girls. i use it once a week to see if anyone is
doing a show, or to put details of one i'm doing up. your
probably right about there being to many artists out there,
but i would'nt begrudge anybody doing something they love
doing and wanting people to know about it.

if yes, no d'load, move on

the security at my job has it blocked...thank god...

should be in the security options

myspace is poorly designed and a lot of people have
nauesating spaces on there.... but so what. its a big
community, and its well recognised, your average joe knows
what it is. most people can navigate it. it has mass appeal.

yes you can use myspace to chat to a bunch of half-arsed
teenage lost souls and emo kiddies, but you dont have to.
you use it how you want.

face it, myspace is here to stay. so use it to profile your
work, or yourself, or don't use it at all.

also its ironic to tell everyone who uses to grow up, as
that only shows how immature you are.

remember reading that your avatar is a starving, crying

same goes for guns...

they have mass appeal, and some people misuse them, but in
general i should just follow your stance - ignore the bad
and just imbrace the good, who cares if there are murders,
my gun works for me

generally, and this IS an assumption, you would think
electronic producers would know enough to quickly build a
site of their own as apposed to using a pre-made stencil
such as myspace...

and i never said my personality wasnt flawed

its wicked flawed...but at least im an asshole with
standards!

I have used it for sharing music and listening to peoples
music but I dont really like the idea of a page on the
internet explaining who I am or what I do, and no matter how
you try to avoid doing that it makes it look like you have,
I don't want to meet new people over the internet and I dont
want people to meet me, I don't want to converse with my
real life friends using a shit little messageboard, and I
dont like having a big fat number of how many 'friends' you
have, and the only way it ever makes you look cool is if you
are clearly so famous you employ someone to add lonely
wankers to your myspace friends list. but it doesnt keep me
up at night

What I mean is, why are you wasting your energy complaining
about it. Do something about it or shut up is what I mean.

Personally, I find myspace annoying. If you look at my
history, I have never posted a personal message, left a
message at someones page or anything like that. My activity
is limited to about once every two months sending a frend
request or two, and thats about it. Would I care if myspace
was gone? No. If you can do something about myspace, I would
probly thank you, because then all those emo whiners and
wiggers would have someplace else to go other than the
internet.

its interesting that on this message board when you bring up
something remotely controversial there seems to be a set way
of handling it

first - you are called a pussy, idiot, loser, wanker, or
cunt (for you across the pond-ers)

if you stick up for yourself and your opinion you then meet

second - the utter dissection of your post, spelling errors,
grammatical errors, and more personal attacks

if you continue to stand up for yourself

third - you are blamed for caring about something too much
that you hate and your opinion is just as useless as the
people's who partake it the activity that your bringing up
in the first place

if you continue to prove points and stand up for yourself

fourth and last - people conclude that even though they
partake they are apathetic enough for it to be ok, and you
have the problem bringing it up and thinking about it -
what's more, people tire of thinking and just hop into the
"what shampoo aphex used on his balls today" thread

god forbid anyone actually question their reality or why
they use myspace...

then again, what do i know? im a bloody cunt-faced-wanker
innit?

fuckers
