lovely warm nostalgia=] i dled an emulator there and you actually
had to wait for the tape to load before you could play way
of the exploding fist. simultaneously shit and brilliant!

I only ever completed about two spectrum games ever, and I
must have played about 1,000. Those were Attic Attac, Zorro
and maybe... maybe Bruce Lee. Oh and Shadow Fire. Four then.
My favourite game was, is Rebel Star Raiders (and the
sequel, Rebel Star Raiders....2), oh and ... Marsport, but I
didn't understand how people worked out what you had to do,
like Tir na nog, it's all spurting out of me now, Tau
Ceti... did you see on The IT Crowd, certainly the first
episode, they had posters for "Underwurlde" and "Alien 8" on
front of the desk... Spectrum... nostalgia... wasted...
years.. looking.. at... tape... loading... which would
then... crash.

But yes, it's great you can get as frustrated with Manic
Miner today as you did 20 or more years ago.

yes rebel star was incredible. the smug joy of the snap shot
and the horror when you lost a photon=] chaos was amazing
also, made by the same guy Julian Dunlop i think, where you
cast spells and then controled your monsters to fight other
wizards. That site had loads of scans of your sinclair too,
almost makes me want to grab by cheetah 125+ and shred my
tendons playing daly thompsons super challenge again=]
ahh...memories.

I have to check out "Chaos" as I never heard of that, and,
as I say, I was a big fan of Rebelstar... the snap shot POW
take that you fucking robot, the Photon, only 2 turn points
a pop, have it, have it, HAVE IT!!!!!! They didn't know what
hit them, I FUCKED THE POWER CORE. Yes.... yes... yes

I wish I still had my copies of Crash and Sinclair USer,
I'll seek out some scans and get misty. Mistier.

I loved them, the old mags, they had.. personality. I even
used to get Zzap64, and I didn't even own a Commodore
64!!!!!!!!!!!! Madness!!!!!

The tapes, typing in the programmes they used to print, ...
all the great covers of the games that were in no way
representative of the actual game but highly evocative none
the less. THIS RELENTLESS NOSTALGIA when will I BE FREE?

Never! I honestly can smell/taste those magazines just by
looking at them.
