Shit, i forgot Steve Reich. They performed Drumming, and it
was excellent.

Tolstoyed: You've seen them all!

saw them both last night and thought it was awesome! what
part of sunn didn't you like?
oh, and what country have you been listening to? :)

phresch, i live in the centre of the world so it's easy to
catch some acts :D however, my favourite gigs were all non
electronic, and i saw much more of that than electronica. my
currently favourite thing is definitelly free jazz performed
live, nothing tops that :)

Scratch Perverts
Optimus Prime
The Beatnuts
Fingathing
Public Enemy

Fairly impressive considering I call myself "someone who
doesn't really like gigs."

Much after. Less than a year ago from now.

There was a table in the center of the hall, on a catwalk
podium (the hall was designed for fashion shows). On the
table was that yokomono yokomono thing set up, if this is
not a collective name of several Staalplaat projects.

There were toy cars with antennas, nine of them, they were
standing on vinyls, in the center of table there were toy
speakers standing, there were two mixing desks and perhaps
other kind of knob-enriched gear, one for Geert-Jan and one
for Karsten.

They started some of toy cars, the sound was at first like
slightly noisy, slowly pulsating ambient with the original
sound from vinyl sometimes getting through the effects.

Sometimes they stopped some cars and changed vinyls under
them. I can't remember what the sound was like later.
Sometimes they've let the original sound play and it
produced a feel of post-modernity, i guess now. Like, 80s
disco.

The crowd gathered around the table observing the action.
After the set Geert-Jan and Karsten gave the killed vinyls
away to those who wanted (or sold them) and were asked for
autographs, which they later said has never happened
before.

I have photos of this at home, i'll post one if I don't
forget.

EU were pretty good but then the party went into the wrong
direction - some st petersburg m4d pops artists took stage
and sucked hard. VERY hard.
