I gave this record a listen, and hundreds of
hipster-reviewers wasn't wrong. Illionois is one of the best
albums of 2005 for sure. Have any of you listened to
Michigan? What about his earlier releases?

i was quite into illinois for a while, but i've grown a bit
tired of it... it's not that good, really. 4-5 great tracks.
seven swans is far better! it blabbers more about jesus, but
it's a source of inspiration for him and it doesn't affect
the music in a negative way. really nice and minimal folky
album with one especially brilliant tune called 'a good man
is hard to find'. check it out!

enjoy the rabbit is alright electronic stuff, but i'm not
really into it at all. a bit mediocre.

michigan is illinois jr. (or illinois is actually michigan
sr., but whatever), so it's the same thing only with less...
everything, soundscape wise. it's just as good as illinois,
though.

i agree, 4-5 great tracks and a bunch of ho-hum. could have
been a much better album if it were trimmed down by 3 or 4
tracks.

i still quite enjoy it though.

Michigan is good, but not nearly as great as Illinois

So...How's The Avalanche?

the avalanche has a couple of tracks that make it worth it.

dear mr. supercomputer for example.

and illinois is great. more than 4 or 5 great tracks imo.
tho one does get tired of the similar sounding arrangements
in every track.

Just this album? Or you don't like his music in general?

He is I have to say, my all time favorite musician. All my
inspiration come from him, and birds.

if swears can't dance and imagine picking up hot chicks at
discoteques to it, it's not good.
