I've seen them once at an AFX gig and they were unbelievably
bad.

i'm being put off by his/their apparent misogynism... -_-

i have the album they did with nurse with wound in mp3 (the
first track is scary/interesting, the second one is noisy
and quite amorphous) but i'm even not feeling so good about
the fact that they made an album together.

Great White Death and Bird Seed are great.

yeah got bird seed which I find strangely relaxing! It kind
of sends you into a trance. A bit like licking the end of a
battery - it feels uncomfortable but you can't stop doing
it.

I'm not sure about their paedo links but I think the Peter
Sotos guy left a couple of albums back - he was the nutter

Well they were bottled off - is that normal for them?

I think people (not unfairly) miss the point with them
sometimes. But it's a fine line to say the least...

whitehousearticle

As for being bottled offstage - probably. I think they
attack the audience sometimes too, or they used to.

some people fairly miss the point?

i think they've made pretty clear where they're coming from
in interviews.

What the fuck is the point of that "article"? Some of the
quotes are interesting but the bits of what I assume are
lyrics are terrible. It sounds like boring ass disillusioned
teenage angst poetry progressed to the point of something
that really should be shown to a psychologist. Also, the
actual body text of the article sounds like that same angsty
teen just discovered thesaurus.com and a random word
generator and jumbled everything together.
"man! if I don't understand it, it must be profound!"

yea sotos left in 2003 or so, he's a nut indeed,

from wikipedia
In 1986, after nine months of police surveillance, Sotos'
apartment was raided by the police, he was arrested and
charged with obscenity and possession of child pornography.
What followed was a three-year trial, countless psychiatric
tests, and some jail time. Charges of obscenity were
dropped, but Sotos was eventually found guilty of the
possession charge, and was given a suspended sentence and a
fine. Sotos was the first person in the United States ever
to be charged for owning child pornography

not really. regarding their motives: in the late eighties
i recall an interview with william bennett, i believe, in
the magazine "alternative press." he described their
motives as nonartistic, but specifically sadistic. he said
"i don't make music not because i can't make music, but
because i choose not to." he described their "sound" as an
act of sadism.

i've also read interviews with peter sotos, and he's not
just into child pornography, he described in an interview
(in a chicago based underground magazine, can't remember the
title) how he took tremendous pleasure in the emotional pain
of parents whose children were sexually tortured and
murdered. so maybe he was motivated by the desire to shock,
to make people angry, upset, hurt.

i've also seen a reproduction of some of peter sotos' "art,"
which consisted of a collage of images of missing children
with penises ejaculating into their faces.

William Bennet kicked Sotos out the band years ago

not that that excuses his art - but are you suggesting
censorship?

easy there, pal.

let's not make too many hasty inferences.

are you saying you love child pornography?

anyway, it's not entirely clear when sotos was really
"kicked out" of the "band."

and the primary point is that whitehouse exists to operate
sadistic actions, not music or art necessarily. if that's
your bag, let 'er rip.

i've not even given my opinion of their art in the thread.
my post was matter-of-fact. it doesn't matter in the end
whether or not whitehouse are a bunch of boring solipsistic
sadism fetishists.

why did they let him join the 'band' in the first place when
in 1986 already he was charged for owning child pornography
