do you mean how do you operate it or how do the little men
in your computer change the way they sing the sounds back to
you (i.e. the maths and shit behind it)

basically (its been a long while since i saw it last but my
mate uses it) and you route a sound source (a sample or
oscilator, depending on what you want to do) and route it
through effects in a sort of modular way i think: then you
tweak all the knobs and stuff and it creates a new sound at
the end: i think that is right but i can't remember.
computer music magazine or native instraments can tell ya
more but also have downloads of similar free synths based on
the reactor system

i'd use it if there was a mac port...

i tried it at a friend's place and it was really
exceptional

what's the midi implementation like?

about reaktor: it helps to have a solid understanding of
modular synthesis...

all you do is take some modules, patch them to gether and
see how it sounds, step repeat

Sure, just sing along!
The pitch is connected to the oscillator
The gate is connected to the envelope
The envelope is connected to the Oscillator
The Oscillator is connected to the filter
The envelope is connected to the filter
The filter is connected to the audio out
:)

PS: there's probably a cracked version on WinMX.

Reaktor is 100x more flexible than Vaz but Vaz sounds a bit
"fatter" and it's easier for beginners IMHO. I learned
modular synth basics from Vaz.

If you know Fruityloops you'll quickly learn Reason. Reaktor
is a totally different story(and a totally different
program)...
