Please !

I like Hafler Trio - "Kill the King", for example.

Hum... yes, of course, I like this album, but I prefer
Hafler's kind of ambient... I'm not too keen on synth
ambient.

It sounds like you're looking for dark ambient, which
I'm not an expert on. I've often heard Lustmord recommended
in this genre, but haven't listened to it myself.

Yes, now that you say it, I think so too ! I like dark
ambient. But I still want electronica, not metal (for
instance not stuff like "Delirium Cordia" by Fantomas : it's
ok but not really my thing).

Aidan Baker does wicked austere/cold ambient, rules my ass,
especially ''Candesence'' and ''Concretion''.

Lustmord is incredible, CS2x got me into his Heresy album
and it's great. Excellent dark ambience but be wary Combo,
it's sort of depression-inducing :/

Lustmord - Heresy III
Orbital - Halcyon + On + On
Delerium - Grave Mentor

i will second the previous recommendation for Brian Eno -
Music for Airports. if you like ambient material, Godspeed
you Black Emperor is worth a look too... though they're not
ambient.
