I've managed to get through 34 years with nothing more druggy than some over-the-counter aspirin and occasional wine/lager (the occasion being get-togethers with chums). For some reason I feel guilty, like I'm the one who's done something wrong for not doing or wanting to do any drugs. Jeez, I'm a social outcast for being clean! Fuck. |

"30 grams is a decent amount." correct that fucking statement! only a fucking retard would take that many shrooms, thats over an ounce!!! pretty standard is an eighth of shrooms (3.5 grams), but a half eighth (1.7) will get the right people well fucked, and ive seen people do a quarter (7 g) and he was alright, but also tripping alot at the time and thus his seratonin levels were already pretty depleted. |

or wait, unless youre talking wet shrooms, which are the only kind you can buy in shops over there if im not mistaken. but in any case, you should dry them out, then weigh them, because however much they weigh when wet is entirely dependent on how much water is in them, and that has no correlation to how much psilicybin there is. |

30 grams of fresh (cubensis) mushrooms is considered a 'regular' dose and is sold in those quantities in shops here. It actually measures out to roughly 3 dried grams, and 20 to 2 etc.. drying them to weigh them is absolutely pointless, because psilocybin breaks down from exposure to air and heat. You can never know how much alkaloids are in there. also, tripping on psilo mush has fuck all to do with serotonin depletion (that would be mdma for example). please stop spreading your misinformative bullshit. |

hmmm, cn'p'd from erowid: Psilocybin and psilocin are part of the tryptamine family (indole C8H7N & ethylamine side chain). Psilocybin is soluable in 20 parts water, while psilocin is only slightly soluable in water.8 They bear close resemblance to the neurotransmitter serotonin. How these substances work is still quite obscure. Primary effect seems to be the inhibition of neurotransmitter serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine aka 5-HT), i.e. a 5-HT2A post-synaptic agonist that mimics the effects to 5-HT to put it in jargon. This is the working hypothesis for LSD-25 at the moment and it's probably true for psilocybin as well. * Once properly dried, Psilocybian mushrooms should retain their potency indefinitely. One collection of Psilocybe semilanceata from 1861 in England was analyzed and found to be fully potent. More recent experiments have shown mushrooms to remain active for at least 8 years when properly dried and stored. |
