I was helping a friend get an old Compaq Deskpro pentium 200 running, and the goddamn thing has all the pci (I think they're pci...?) cards on an expansion riser off the motherboard, and the goddamn expansion riser is partially sealed behind metal that's riveted together! lol/wtf?!
I can't even check the jumper (yes, jumper) settings on the modem and sound card, never mind pull/replace cards. Has anyone ever worked on one of these pieces of shit? Am I missing some obvious way to get into the difficult area that doesn't involve prying and breaking metal with a screwdriver?
