It's a great period for commercials spot on Italian TV.
After reniform puls by autechre for LG mobile phone, today I
listened 'shiny metal rods' track3 from SAWII, commercial
for Saab cars. Finally best electronic music on Italian
screens :-)

Good find Woofer, I haven't watched that spot yet so I'll be
careful when I turn on my tv.

I was listening to SAWII the other day with VirtualBrain :)

i would never want my music to be on a commercial.
selling some crap to make someone money. thats not what
music should be about.,its deeper than that.

i've just seen some advertising for some car with some music
i knew on it, i didn't recognise the track but i think it
could have been aphex twin. not sure.

lately, car advertisings seem to have better music than
other advertisings... i don't know why... (it started with
the one having numb by portishead)

i still don't want to have a car though.

i'm clumsy and can't concentrate on anything.
would be dangerous.

oh, i'm so glad aphex twin is used in car commercials - this
is really a wonderful moment for art.

congratulations, aphex! congratulations, italy! way to
go!

and in case any of that has been lost in translation - i
really mean it's pure shit.

imagine you know all about michelangelo, van gogh and
tintoretto? bah this comment is so banal and foreseen. you
speak like aphex twin would be your boyfriend... bah.

I heard he bought his mum a house, so he can't be all that
bad. Nothing wrong with making money from art, especially
if the art is a great as AFX's ... I'm sure he didn't write
the track wiht the intention of getting on TV, so fair play
to the man!

yeah, but i feel sort of uncomfortable knowing people who
don't really appreciate his music use it for intentions of
this sort.
(btw, i drive a saab :)

really don't like aphex twin music?

I never understand why people whine about this, Aphex gets
some dolla bill, you get to hear some hot beatz where you
would normally hear rubbish and nothing untoward happens to
anybody in any way whatsoever

In what way do cars and good music not mix? I agree with
woofter, driving with some slamming IDM is the good stuff, I
was in a car that was written off whilst listening to Funki
Porcini and it was totally worth it

hey, don't get me wrong. i love to cruise in a car enjoying
music, but i couldn't care less about the car see. infact
what it would suit me the most is to get some old shitty
convertible and cruise around the states. i still hope i'll
manage that one day.

IDM don't suits my drivin' style... It demands too much
attention...
70s funk for me!

yeah, idm is passe anyway. good ambient and pschedelic stuff
(be it rock or electronica, better even mixed) is where it's
at!

Nannou 2 was being used as almost subconciously-quiet mixed
bedding during one of the stories radio1's "newsbeat"
stories last week.

i didn't know you were an expert of art.

now you do know.

well i imagine you know all about michelangelo, van gogh
and tintoretto?

yeah actually

bah this comment is so banal and foreseen.

bah fuck off.

you speak like aphex twin would be your boyfriend...
bah.

bah typical homophobic drivel. bah...

you're the one making threads congratulating him on making
good business deals, not me. that's what i call fanboyism -
unblinking loyalty when they sell out. i wouldn't
appreciate any of my favorite artists prostituting their
works for commercials. that's my opinion. you don't have
to agree, but this is a messageboard and you're not the only
one who gets to post here.

I dont care what aphex does with his music, it's him not
me.

But as it happens, i do like it how he's been quiet from the
main stream, i hate the way businesses are orientated and
setup to work that way (money first priority).. so yes, i am
glad he hasn't gone bonkers into the mainstream.
