while playing around I think I might have ended up making
the most extreme drill'n'bass track and now I would like
some opinions on it...you can download it here
mydrillsbigger

before you go hey what a conceited bastard hear me out..I am
not saying it's the best or the fastest..I am saying the
most extremeas in nosiest and harshest and and I wont
recommend listening to it if you are not into abrasive
stuff...
cristicism is welcome

ummm...

yes it is quite extreme... reminds me of some rdj, but this
one has absolutely no melody... i think it has some function
but i'm in totally wrong mood for this... it doesen't
totally suck if that's what your asking... i like it because
it is quite insane. it could be even more though...

I dont know about most extreme, although it was the loudest.
When i think about most extreme it would be more random and
stuff where your track was loud and had a constant
rhythm,,,,i did think it was quite nice though ;0

That sound in the beginning reminded me of Devine. Do you
like any of his stuff, Flea?

Pretty intense, flea. I almost shit my pants when it first
started as I had my speakers turned up pretty high. Could
you let me know what you think of my music? It can be
downloaded at:

yeah I know..it's not true scatter brained drill and bass
(which I love )..here I took the term literally as in the
drums sound like drills (heh

its not that bad, if it was a name brand artist putting it
out some people would be raving about it i'm sure...

i always have had this idea of the opposite of ambient, but
how do you make it intersting... anti-ambient, total chaos
with some random patterns... this actually is sort of in
that direction

offline Clic on 2002-03-02 03:54 [#00108497]

Yeah, I think Devine is very interesting as well. Aleamapper
is fantastic IMO. Lipswitch is quite nice too.

Hey Ubik, if you ever get that anti-ambient thing going, let
me know. Sounds cool.

randomness is like the worst idea applied to music.

Nah. You have to change it up sometimes... or I do at least.

Okay Flea. I just listened to the whole thing
(mydrillsbigger) and I dig it quite a bit. I couldn't
earlier because for some reason or another, my media player
would stopd after the first 25/26 seconds into the track,
but I had even thought then that the opening sounds were
interesting. What program(s) do you use, if you don't mind
telling that is?

thank you Ubik..anti ambient bordering on total chaos is
quite an apt definition of what I was trying to achieve..I
have a whole host of tracks I have been working on with that
logic in place and I will post a message when they become
available..not all are as abrasive as this..some even have
semblences of melody:)

I really like the sounds, they are harsh.

but it kinda doesnt work as a track, its not something you
would put on and enjoy.

why dont you make the first 20 seconds an intro to a more
regular sounding song.

i like it tho, dont misunderstand!

Flea not bad, i was listening to ambient stuff before hand
so when i turned ur track on my ears exploded. Not great,
but not bad, it could be a low quality RDJ track

thanks for all the kind words guys...yes after the begining
it seems to meander a bit..it was an experiment really..but
the feedback I have been getting has been mostly quite
educational and constructive...my reason for posting the
thing in the first place :)
