"yes!" on both counts.

PUSA fucking kick hole, and i still listen to them today.
fucking fun music.

and deftones was certainly the best of the nu-metal bands.

Yeah, the press weren't interested, but they had loads of
fans. Weezer have a had a little critical revival (their new
music's shit though), so why not teh PUSA?

I remember reading that the Chemical Brothers spotted "Dig
Your Own Hole" tagged on a wall and thought that was a cool
name for an album.

But "Lost in the K-Hole" COULD be a K reference

There's a song on there called "Lost in the K hole".
Here's the lyrics:

New idea, new idea
New idea, new idea

New idea, new idea

New idea, new idea
New idea, new idea

New idea, new idea

New idea, new idea

New idea, new idea

New idea, new idea

New idea, new idea

fourteen, that is long ago. maybe i listened to tapes of my
kind of brother, there were Queen, Kino (russian cult rock
band), Roxette, ABBA on these tapes. ABBA were my most
favourites then, i guess.

1993 - I saw On on MTV and discovered Aphex. i think that
was the same time when MTV had that "this is a this is a
this. this is a this is a. this. etc" commercial, which
stands out for me as the golden age of MTV. i think i was
still digging a-ha, and getting into some more rave style
music. and L.A. Style and Shamen and such.

i was around 15 or 16.

song" thread is, please let me know.

ufo, scorpions, def leppard, ramones, led zeppelin, van
halen, largely what is now considered "classic rock."

Well I suppose it was fatboy slim, prodigy and chemical
brothers.
Dig your own hole was played a lot i recal, infact I still
like the private psychadelic reel off the album lots.

none of my friends knew any aphex or anything, there was 1
computer in the whole school with the internet and no one
really got the point of the internet, didn't have any access
to older people in the rave scene, because that was finished
by then, so basically no way of knowing what good music was
out there.

I started getting into DJing about then because I wanted to
be Mix Master Mike, and access to record shops introduced
me to dnb, etc so that was good.

I'm not really ashamed of most of the music I have from back
then. Most of it is still good, it's just now the things I
have are better.

I'm lucky to live in melbourne where we have RRR comunity
radio station. For the last 30 years they've been playing
the best in alternative music and left wing culture from
around the world. They seriously rock, great to grow up
with.

Bands:
Nirvana, The Cure, Joy Division, Blur, Oasis, Echo & The
Bunnymen.

I think it was around 14-15 that I sold my soul to
electronica.

All you guys were so advanced musically.. I mean,
comparitively. At 14 I didn't really listen to music, 'cept
my parents' CDs (Crash test dummies, Phil Collins, Clannad),
intermittent christian rap and country tapes, and stuff I
heard on TV. I was still playing Nintendo almost
exclusively. It wasn't until Aqua came along in 1998
(~15yo) that I really started getting into it..

i wasn't advanced... i got my first cd when i was 9, but it
took me years for me to listen to it, then i got my second
cd at 13... the bands i listed were the ones i was ilstening
to when i was rather 15, and i only knew a dozen of bands
back then.

i remember when other kids/teens asked me what i was
listening to before that, i was embarassed because i didn't
know what to answer. someone asked me if i was "in my
nirvana period" because i had long hair and i didn't even
know nirvana!

music.

Above all I liked Depeche Mode..

and the cure, the smiths, morrissey, tangerine dream,
kraftwerk, art of noise, dead kennedys, bel canto, munch,
skinny puppy, cowboy junkies and u2...
