I was using this tonight and wow is it fantastic. It's
non-expiring non crippled shareware that costs $40 USD.

It has the most flexible recording and routing I've seen in
a non modular system. And the effects chain is fantastic -
unlike Ableton it doesn't mind inserting an effect before an
instrument. It has no problem routing midi from a generator
plugin to another instrument in the chain, or another
channel. You can record the midi and / or audio in and or
out of any channel. It won't record midi or vst automation
if you only want to record effects.

Basically it seems like they fixed everything I hated about
other host software. I'll probably buy it in a month if I
don't find any showstopper bugs.

Sound quality and rendering are solid. The mixer has
advanced stuff like adjustable pan laws.

Anyone else using it? Have you found any big drawbacks? I
can't... :D

oh plus it contains the jesusonic scriptable effects and
midi engine which looks at first glance like something that
makes Max MSP redundant - you can script shit like

@block
while
(
midirecv(offset,msg1,msg23) ?
(
//Check status byte
status = msg1 & 240; //High four bits is message type (240
== 11110000)
channel = msg1 & 15; //Low four bits is channel number (15
== 00001111)

//Is it on our channel?
channel == inChannel ?
(
//Route note events
(status == statNoteOn || status == statNoteOff) ?
(
//get note number
note = msg23 & 127;

//Is it within our note range?
mode & 1 ?
(
note >= noteMin && note <= noteMax ?
(
//Transpose and clamp
note += transpose;
note < 0 ? note = 0; note > 127 ? note = 127;

//Get velocity
velocity = ((msg23/256) & 127);

//Set up messages
msg1 = status + outChannel;
msg23 = note|(velocity*256);
);
);
)
:
(
//Route non-note events
mode & 2 ? msg1 = status + outChannel;
);
);
//Send messages
midisend(offset,

That's weird. What sound card are you using? Does it have
ASIO drivers? Was there any other sound app open at the
time?

The only time I've had an audio app hang was when I had it
configured to use a USB sound card that wasn't connected
just at that moment.
