Calika's unique sound continues to please the reviewers - proving the point that "growers" can provide considerable replay value.... Calika brings a multitude of sound sources to his work (from dismantled pianos, harmonicas and msp patches) and crafts them carefully.

i checked out some samples of this person after hearing they did the runnning tapr stuff with mark clifford. it wasn't really my thing, and the runnning tapr wasn't up to par with the disjecta ep in my opinion.
i was really exited to see news on the polyfusia site and then when they got the new layout i was like cool maybe more news, but then i browsed the flash ridden webpage and i wanted to pull my eyes out of my head it was such a pain in the ass. webpages like that are the reason flash should be outlawed.
all that being said i'll give this stuff another listen or two

the polyfusia release is seperate from the Calika audiobulb release.... and sounds quite different too.... but obviously Simon is involved with each....
Personally I think both releases are excellent - but I find the more complex arrangements of the Calika work more engaging and challenging....
I think it illustrates the commitment and energy of the man to be working across projects.... he is also in CEK a band who recently played @ electrowerkz....
